Styro foam cutting

I’m working on a Styrofoam cutting framework named FoamBlade. The project is hosted at SourceForge: http://foamblade.sourceforge.net

A big part of the project is written in Python, the rest uses C to get the parallelport controlled in realtime.

After a few more years of experience in software engineering, real time programming and machining tools I have a lot of ideas and lots necessary enhancements that may be implemented soon.

Additionally, I implemented new real-time controller application that uses Real-time (RTPREEMPT) Linux instead of RTAI Real-time Linux. There are still a few release critical issues. I will do a release after solving them.

FoamBlade will be further integrated into EMC (see EMC site). Which means that FoamBlade can focus on CAM tasks like path generation and preprocessing. The real CNC part can be done by EMC, wich performs a lot better than my own real-time task for FoamBlade.

I just need to have more time, more money or a student to do it :) .
